Accordionist/pianist Jon Persson plays easy-listening arrangements of your favorite popular Christmas Holiday tunes, plus a few high-powered classical arrangements, not expected by audiences unfamiliar with classical accordion. He's created a number of arrangements for accordion and piano to perform in conjunction with his multi-instrumental quintet ensemble ("The MiniSymphony"), 3 of which are featured on this album. Persson performs both the accordion and piano tracks. The "MiniSymphony" string quartet is staffed by a roster of interchangeable virtuoso musicians. Frequently appearing on major cruise ship lines traveling around the world, Persson has performed numerous concerts throughout North America and Europe. The accordion used in this album is a Roland FR3X digital instrument, and is a B-System chromatic-keyboard instrument, a type of accordion found predominantly in European countries. This is a totally different keyboard from the piano-accordion system popular in North America, sometimes called a button-keyboard, and is often described as looking like a side-ways typewriter.
